Picture Perfect:

The Importance of a Photographer for Your Destination Wedding

· Planning,Photography

The one regret that some destination wedding brides express after their beautifully set up and tear jerkingly romantic ceremony is that they did not have good photos. The friend with the latest iphone just will not cut it on the day.

How do you choose the right photographer? Price is not the only thing to consider. Check out our 3 key deciders to look for when choosing a photographer for your destination wedding in Barbados

1st - Experience and Expertise:

There are some great photographers out there, no lie, but wedding photography needs a particular touch and eye. (I did not mean for that statement to rhyme)

Wedding Experience: Ensure the photographer has experience shooting weddings, as it requires specific skills to capture the unique moments of the day.

Second Shooter: Inquire if a second shooter is included in the package. This can be helpful for capturing multiple angles and candid moments.

2nd - Photography Style:

Portfolio: Review the photographer's portfolio to ensure their style aligns with your vision. Look for consistency in lighting, editing, and overall aesthetic.

Inspiration: Gather inspiration photos that capture the style you love and compare them to the photographer's work.

3rd - Personality and Communication:

Chemistry: Meet with the photographer in person or via video call to assess your compatibility and ensure you feel comfortable working together.

Communication: Discuss your expectations, timeline, and any specific requests. A good photographer will be open to your ideas and provide clear guidance.

As a bonus, it's also helpful to check out any review on the photographer, bearing in mind the majority rules when it comes to looking at them. One bad review does not equate to a bad photographer.

Finally make sure they can give you a comprehensive contract covering everything your photography package will include on the day.

The VOWSBarbados team recommends and works with some of the best photographers on island to ensure your destination wedding memories are picture perfect!
